Which are the best foods for the brain???

There are some foods however which, due to their nutritional composition, are healthier and better used for a specific function of our body. So what would be the best foods for thebrain!?! This is what we’re going to try and find out in this article.

1. Salmon – at the top of best foods for the brain

Wild salmon and seafood in general are extremely healthy. Including such food products in your diet will be very beneficial for the brain. Omega-3 fatty acids, found in high quantities in wild salmon, help the brain in developing tissue which increases its power. Salmon also contributes to reducing the risk of strokes, Alzheimer’s and other age-related cognitive disorders. Salmon also improves your mood and synaptic connections.

2. Blueberries

Blueberries are really super-fruits. Regular consumption improves memory function and their antioxidants fight against free radicals. Acai berries and other berries such as strawberries, raspberries or mulberries are also good foods for the brain.

3. Nuts and seeds

Peanuts, walnuts, almonds, sunflower seeds, are all packed with nutrients such as vitamin B6, vitamin E, folic acid, Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids. Such nutrients fight insomnia by relaxing the mind and promote a strong memory and mental clarity.

4. Whole Grains

Whole grains are rich in folate which increases the blood flow in the brain. They also improve memory through their rich content in vitamin B6. So, whole grains are great foods for the brain.

5. Tea

A cup of hot green or black tea is just what you need to boost your concentration. Aside from the moderate content of caffeine that keeps you awake, green tea also contains catechins, an antioxidant responsible for keeping your mind sharp and fresh.

6. Flax

Flax seeds are rich in a healthy fat named alphalinoleic, or ALA. Such seeds improve the functionality of cerebral cortex responsible for sensory information. So, flax seeds are great for having sharper senses.

7. Eggs

Why are eggs in this list of top foods for the brain!?! Eggs are rich in vitamin B6 and lecithin which slow the natural age-related process of brain deterioration. Even if you should avoid eating too many eggs, you should know that they are rich in healthy Omega-3 and their yolk is high in choline, an element important for brain cells which improve memory.
